Download Battlefield 2 v1.5 Beta Patch

attlefield 2 v1.50 Beta Released The beta for testing the new 1.50 update for Battlefield 2 is now available for everyone who want to help out and test the new patch. Including a new map, the patch appears to contain very little in the way of changes, despite its protracted development:

• Various changes made to prevent cheating.
• Added checks to prevent “runway grieving”
• Added Highway Tampa to the default build to make it a compulsory update.
• Added the new map Operation Blue Pearl.

Please note that users with this patch will be unable to play on non-beta servers.

You should probably backup your non-beta 1.41 installation before applying the patch, so you can still play on the older servers.

Install BF2 v1.50 Beta 1:

* Copy your Battlefield 2 install to another location
* Install the update
* This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it was originally installed.

To go back to BF2 v1.41:

* Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 1.50
* Rename the copied install (1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
* Click START>RUN
* Type: regedit
* Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
* There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
* Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
* Run Battlefield 2 as normal

GAMEPLAY TWEAKS
- Changes made to both the J10 and F35B to make them more balanced. Please note that the J10 is a superior dogfighter to the F35B and as such these two aircraft will never be equally matched.
- AA targeting tweaked to make it more effective.
- Added checks to prevent "runway grieving".
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.
- Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model.
- Added support for the Novint Falcon controller.
