Low FPS during games

hi,
i ha Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 1333MHz
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3
Graphics card: SAPPHIRE HD 4850
Hard Drives: Samsung S-Ata, 2x 160GB, Samsung 1x 500GB
CD-Rom: LG 52x
S-ata DVD-Rom: LG 16x
S-ATA DVD burner: SH-223f
Samsung S-Ata, 2x 160GB, Samsung 1x 500GB.installed windows vista,when i play the game i get some really low fps,is it some ram issue?but i don't think so,i have Corsair PC3-14400 DDR3 1800MHz 2GB RAM.Any help will be extremely appreciated.

What resolution are you running it at?

Update windows drivers? latest patches? Direct X version? Video card drivers? Video card/game settings on max maybe? 512 mb is almost bare minimum for any 3d games nowadays.check your psu download a voltage calculator or probe and see how the power is distrubuting or even at all.

Alot of things can cause poor FPS in games. things such as programs running in the background, Poor setup, such as having the setting in the drivers turned all the way up and set to high Quality, (these can be overriding your image settings).
