After a few scans and scattered bits of info on the web, the Silent Hill Wii is specified by means of an official announcement.
Revealed in the pages of Japanese magazine Famitsu, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories unveiled today specifically via a press release distributed by Konami. We begin to learn that this remake of the first flap at the same time on PSP and PlayStation 2. No jealous and a little more chance for Konami to install its title in the home.
Remake we said? Not quite if we are to believe the publisher who insisted on some changes. First, if the scenario seems unchanged, many interactions with the key characters of the story should be rethought. In addition to being in a different light during the conversation, each of the characters will be encountered in different places of the original version.
Obviously Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will leverage the specific features of the console. The use of the flashlight will be assigned to the Wiimote, but also a mobile phone equipped with a GPS. This feature will allow our character to locate on a map but also to take pictures of items he deems interesting. The Wiimote will also be asked to manipulate objects in solving puzzles.
More anecdotally, the title that Konami will introduce this as a Psyche Profile. It is a compilation of data on the player judging his behavior. For example: what places were visited first, what were the reactions of the player face the creatures encountered, the objects examined, and so on. It is not yet sure what all this will serve us well but hope this is not purely gadget.
Finally Konami tells us that this was Wiimake entrusted Climax, the studio responsible for Silent Hill Origins on PSP and PlayStation 2 and Yamaoka Akira went back to work we propose a sound revisited. This should be available this fall.
