Grand Theft Auto IV - Bugs recurring

For many people the game does not start after installation. In a vast majority of cases, lets check the power of the computer:

    This game is very greedy!

    Officially Recommended
    Setting the compatibility with Vista

    Minimum official
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB of hard disk space
    Graphics Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

Although the flow will not go, especially when it rains (in the game, of course ......)
Put all the options at least

Let us be under no illusion, the second configuration, we will detail ways.

For details and high play without lags HD (1920 * 1080)
    Count 4 processor cores and a 2.66 GTX 280 or HD 4870 and 4GB of ram ...

    Your configuration is good right?
    This still does not start?
It is mandatory to install Service Pack 3 for XP and Vista SP1.

And get to put your graphics drivers up to date, while he is there.

Grand Theft Auto IV- Setting the compatibility with Vista

    Setting the compatibility with Vista

For vista users: you must set the compatibility:

With 1-Click the right mouse button on the icon of the game (the executable), then click "Properties."
    2-Click on the "Compatibility" tab.
3-Click to activate the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for", then select "Windows XP", and if it asks you to install the service pack 3, check "windows 2000" in the list.
    4-Click "OK."

It only remains for you to install the patch (v 1.0.2.0), which also fixes crashes.
Download Grand Theft Auto IV Second Patch

    Now it should go.

A new version 1.0.3.0 patch GTA4 came out, but a lot of config it will not give a "fatal error", followed by a blue screen with reboot required.
Try if you like, but if you have an error message the installation, keep the version 1.0.2.0

Finally, at Nvidia, the 182.xx drivers are less effective in the game that 180.xx, although they are 'recommended'!

If you can't get the game to start in Vista, try turning Aero off.
