Final Fantasy XI PC - Screen resolution

Hi all

I formatted my pc before this, my game Final Fantasy XI PC version were ruining fine with full screen but since I formatted, the game refuses to run in another resolution than 800x600 , previously i was enjoying it on 1400x1050 . How can i change this?

Did you get your driver and patch update?

The resolution is typically set through the config utility after installation, the program can be found in the start menu, under the same folder as the shortcut to the game.

I run in an 1152x864 window, with a 2304x2304 background resolution. I do this because 1) while one of my monitors is widescreen, I find a 4:3 ratio is just more comfortable for me with my eyes constantly moving from chat log to HP/MP bars and 2) this size fits on either of my monitors (1440x900 & 1280x1024). I only switch the window between them occasionally, but still. To find out what you can run at with a comfortable frame rate, you just try different settings until you find what you like.

If the game seems fast but the graphics aren't good enough for you, go ahead and turn up the settings even higher. Click on the windows Start button, Programs, PlayOnline, FINAL FANTASY XI, FINAL FANTASY XI Config. The only option you need to change is the Background Resolution which changes the quality of both the characters and terrain.
