Can not run Mirror's Edge

I installed the game Mirror's Edge on my laptop running Windows XP, and the game refuses to run (the splash screen remains for hours).
I tried:
- To run the game in compatibility mode in 2000, NT4, 98 and 95: nothing to do
- To delete the EA Games folder from My Documents
- Go into My Documents-> EA Games-> Mirror's Edge-> TdEngine-> Config-> tdEngine.ini and save maxmultisamples 2
- To run with Ubuntu PlayOnLinux (again, impossible to start)

I ask your help to play Mirror's Edge, thank you in advance.

And it is purchased in store or on Steam?

Laptop HP Compaq 6715b
Windows XP Professional SP2
Processor: AMD Mobile Sempron
Graphics: ATI Radeon X1250
RAM: 1GB

I think it is because of the ATI graphics card

Try disabling the "vertical sync" on the map.

On the desktop, right click, ATI Catalyst Control Center; 3D Setting


In addition to you updated your graphics card lately? With the HP drivers?

PhysX is not enabled. I tried to run the game using SparkleXP, but nothing to do.
