TES 4 Oblivion error need help XD

Hey all,

My mate installed oblivion onto his computer which had XP and then he copied all the files onto my portable hard drive.

i took it home and with a tweak in the registry it worked on XP.

But then i got my new computer which has vista and now the game will not work but if i take the game over to the other computer it works.

Im pretty sure it has something to do with the game not being compatible with vista but maybe not so was wondering can anyone shed some light on this problem.

BTW my new computer is over the requirements for the game ^^

Since Oblivion works fine with your XP and other computers, it is completely free from error. The main reason why Oblivion is imcompatible with Vista is Oblivion is not a Games for Windows title.
However, you may try downloading the latest drivers for your graphics integrated card.

You can buy a $50 graphics card and all your games must work fine.

Hmm is there any way for it to work with vista coz the error i get is (0xc0000005) failed to initialize properly this happens when i go to launch the oblivion.exe

The error 0xC0000005 is generated by an illegal "memory access violation". This can be caused by anything from faulty RAM, an incorrect/corrupt device driver, poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows XP Service pack 2, malware/adware installations.

Usually you get this error message when performing a specific task, and if that happens you need to check the corresponding 3rd party's website/support department to see if they are aware of the problem.
