Flight Simulator X (FSX) running out of memory

I recently installed Flight Simulator X on my computer and some add-on's for it. But when I started it my PC got stuck and found that I am running out of memory.

Now I had installed 2GB of RAM (now I have 4 GB) but since I am running Windows XP Home 32 bit I know Windows XP will not be using the whole 4GB of RAM. What should I do now?

The addressing is overflowing which is the maximum cause of games to crash, possible TDR errors, and bsods.

The amount of addressing is related to how much memory the video card has. A 512MB card uses less addressing space then a 256MB card does.

It's probably just a memory bug, maybe some kind of memory leak internal to the game in which a certain buffer or register leaks out, but doesn't consume more ram. Maybe it's actually Video ram that it's complaining about.

Disable Hidden Files and Folders, then on the C:\ you will find a file named: boot.ini open it in notepad and add the following to the end of the OS boot line:

    /3GB/Userva=2560

    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /3GB /Userva=2560 <---- add it here

Save and close the file. Reboot your system

To set it back to default, simply remove the edit.
