Download Combat Mission: Shock Force v1.11 Demo

This brand new v1.11 demo showcases both the basic Shock Force game as well as the Marines Module, sold separately from the basic game. The Combat Mission: Shock Force Demo will require approximately 1 Gigabyte of free space on your hard drive in order to install.

    DEMO LIMITATIONS:

    • Includes three scenarios which can be played as either US or Syrian
    • Includes a fourth scenario, "Demo Training" which was designed to only be played from the US perspective
    • All multiplayer modes are active (TCP-IP, PBEM, Hotseat)
    • You can access the full Game Editor, but the save function is disabled.
    • The original full game manual is included as a pdf file
    • The demo scenarios are only in English. See Game Language Info below for more details on how to play these battles in other languages.

    DEMO SCENARIO INFO:

    • Demo Training, a small training scenario designed to familiarize new players to Combat Mission before engaging in "real" combat. (Blue play only)
    • Smashing Steel: A Syrian mechanized force heads south as an American Stryker and tank force heads north. (Battle begins before dawn in the dark, but as time progresses and the sun rises, visibility and lighting will increase)
    • Going to Town: Stryker infantry mix it up with the Syrian forces as they enter a small town.
    • USMC Going to Town: Marines combined arms force fights it out with a Syrian force in a small town. The battlefield is the same as the Stryker based Going to Town scenario in order to highlight the differences between the units in each.

Information of Combat Mission: Shock Force v1.11 Demo

This information is for the current v1.11 patch of Combat Mission Shock Force & Marines.

You only need this patch if you have the CMSF-Marines Module installed! If you ONLY have the base game of CMSF and no other module installed then you do not need this patch.

This v1.11 Marines patch is the ONLY patch you need to update your Module and the base game to v1.11. You do not need to install both this patch and the base game patch. This v1.11 Marines patch updates the base game automatically!

    PREVIOUS SAVE GAME COMPATIBILITY NOTE:
    • Save games created with earlier versions of the game are NOT compatible with v1.11. Please finish your in-progress games before applying this patch.

    COMPATIBILITY WITH MODS:

    • Due to the potential of conflicts with pre v1.11 game Mods, we advise uninstalling any mods prior to installing the v1.10 game patch. Mod authors will need to update their mods using the v1.11 strings.txt embedded into the new "Version 111.brz" file.

    CUSTOM HOTKEYS.TXT NOTE
    • If you had assigned custom hotkeys in the past (available in v1.02-v1.08) then you might want to backup your Datahotkeys.txt file before installing this patch. Once the patch is installed, simply paste your copy of hotkeys.txt file back into the Data folder and you will still have all of your old hotkey assignments.

    V1.11 SCENARIO AND CAMPAIGN OPTIMIZATIONS

Version 1.11 includes an optimization which potentially speeds up the loading process or large scenarios, campaign battles, and save games. It is most noticeable for scenarios that have a lot of locked (black) elevation points. In order for this optimization to work, existing user created scenarios must be saved out in the Editor using v1.11. Nothing special is needed... just open the scenario in the Editor and save it again! User created Campaigns should be recompiled after all their individual scenarios have been re-saved. This patch includes select re-saved (i.e. optimized) versions of scenarios that shipped with CM: SF and CM: SF Marines, as well as an updated and improved version of the Marines campaign. There was no need to optimize the original CM: SF Campaigns.
