Windows XP and compatible games

In fact my question is more informative than technical.

we read tests on recent video games or old, on the material it is mentioned that the minimum system requirements or recommended, but nothing about the types of windows compatible (98 - 2000 - Millennium - or XP Vista) except sometimes on the box of games (which was not under the eyes because the test is on the net).

I also ordered "Commando 2: Men of Courage" used on a website, but it is compatible with Windows 98 - ME -2000.
Being under XP, the game does not install.

Also, can we estimated a release date of an old game (1996 or 1998) from which the game is not compatible with Windows XP as too old.

Thank you for my lantern light, as being keen on some old games, it is a shame to found incompatible with games on their arms as too old.

I assume that your game is on CD or DVD, so as you tried to "rip" the content of the medium in a folder on your computer, then put the binary compatible 98 or ME or 2000?

You can then try installing from File

This game installs under XP but needs to be done after the compatibility mode for Jance 'low resolution).
If you n'arrives not install it, there is a problem with the CD itself or a problem to be updated on your PC (or other Adobe Flash vice display the install)

Okay, I ripe content on the computer as a epsilon143 said, rocked the setup.exe in compatibility mode win.98 and installation could be done.
