Saints Row 2 PC system requirements revealed; will use Steam for DRM

Already available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 since last October 17, Saints Row 2 will land on PC. If it is not expected before next February 2 in Europe, the title of Volition / THQ should come on January 5 among all North American retailers.

The forums have also revealed that Saints Row 2 will use Steam for the game's DRM to authenticate the game. Volition's community manager states, " Essentially, Steam will be a verification system for the retail version. Steam will also have an offer to digitally download SR2 to a player's system if they don't want to leave the confines of their house. If you have a retail version, Steam is only going to verify that you have a real copy of the game when you are first installing and launching the game. We're trying to use a very low impact DRM here, since we've seen some of the headaches faced by other major game releases in recent months."

That required a configuration that will not be as happy, but, like that applied for Grand Theft Auto IV, insists much on the power needed to run things properly.

If we can use the joystick as that Xbox360 for Dead Space or Fallout 3 is immediately recognized by the game, it will be cool.

As announced at the exit of the game for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 (last October 17), Saints Row 2 arrives on PC. Better still, the title of Volition is already available in North America, and, whether the box or milling Steam, arrived with a little bit late.

On the Old Continent, it will take its ailing patient a few days, but then it seemed not to have come out before February 2, Saints Row 2 is now due on January 23. A date forward by the development studio itself on the community site of the game ... Of course, this changes from the previous date had been suggested by some online retailers, but history to be completely fixed, we are still awaiting confirmation from THQ.

Saints Row 2 is an action/adventure crime game set in the fictitious city of Stilwater in which players wake from a five year coma after the events of Saints Row game and then goes about reforming his old gang seeking revenge against his old enemies in hopes of controlling the city once again.

The game play of Saints Row 2 is very similar to the original Saints Row with an open ended/sandbox style story played in third person shooter/perspective. One change worth note in Saints Row 2 is the expanded character customization in which players can customize not only their character's look but also certain traits and attributes to their liking. Saints Row 2 also includes a wide array of drivable (and flyable) vehicles and plenty of combat with numerous hand to hand weapons and firearms.
