Largely mediated by a Sony that would make it a true community space, the interface Home is accessible to anyone with a Playstation 3 since mid-December. The Japanese also draws the first conclusions of its launch and, financially speaking, they seem rather positive.
If we believe our fellow Silicon Alley Insider, the "virtual goods" for sale on Home sell even "like hot cakes" according to Susan Panico, director of PlayStation Network.
The acquisition of goods is seen as a way to customize their avatar and with the holiday season, Sony has clearly not to complain, even though no figure has been revealed. The Japanese still specifies that the price between 49 cents and 4.99 dollars, these virtual goods have, in four days, exceeded the revenue generated by films and videos in one week.
Susan Pacino also that for the time, Home is a classic 80/20 distribution where 20 percent of members generate 80 percent of income.
