Publisher Ubisoft will be bringing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fighting game to Wii, from a development team with Team Ninja and Smash Bros Pedigree.

Revealed by Nintendo Power, the game will be a 4 Player 2.5D Fighting title akin to Super Smash Bros Brawl, and sounding relatively similar to the classic Tournament Fighters on Mega Drive. The game will have interactive stages, a Story Mode, a Battle Royal mode, a Tournament mode, a Winner Stays-Loser Stays mechanic, a Practice mode, and there will be Unlockable Characters and Unlockable Stages. There will also be an online mode, that is 'said to be better than Brawl implementation'. The development team, separate from Ubisoft's own developer studios, will be made up of staffers from Tecmo's Team Ninja, and some of those that worked on Nintendo's Super Smash Bros Brawl.
The game will be a licensed title, but it won't be based on any of the franchise's movies or TV Show plotlines.

According to the magazine, official development of the game started in January this year, whilst the concept originated in October last year. The game's release is to be September 2009, only a Wii version has been mentioned thus far, so it is expected to be an exclusive.
