Designed by 2D Boy, World Of Goo is available in WiiWare and PC (via the official game site or Steam). If the game is praised by critics, Ron Caramel, responsible design, spoke of a piracy rate of 90%!Curious, our colleagues from Joystiq contacted the person.Ron Caramel said he had received letters from people who decided to buy the game after hijacked, but these are isolated cases while files are moving torrents with over 500 seeders.

While the price, lack of originality or finishing games are often invoked to justify piracy, the example of World Of Goo is interesting for several reasons. The game 2D Boy is actually developed by a small team of independent, it is original, well done and is being marketed at low price (20 dollars). Moreover, it is marred by no system of protection "lourdingue and intrusive: it is therefore unclear what that might justify the piracy of this game

That is reassuring however buyers, Ron Caramel said that sales on WiiWare, Steam and via the official website are good.It is therefore no question of bankruptcy ...yet!

Update:according to Kyle Gabler, a partner Ron Caramel, the figure of 90% of piracy would have been obtained through records of IP addresses connected at least once servers ranking.Gabler said that he is therefore an estimate, but it confirms the observations made for many other games.
