Problems with PS3 and PC screen

I have a little problem with my 22 flat screen by Philips.
Whom do I play on the PS3 then nothing happens, but whom I eg
Look here comes a movie so every 5 minutes an "error" message.

"this is overdrive
change settings in your PC to 1680x1050"

how can you change or does it not?

Did the screen with an HDMI cable.

Have also been my desktop to the resolution, but it brings nothing.

The detailed description is 220EW8FB screen.
If the problem to the screen should lie.
