At the anniversary of the battle of Hastings, HandyGames announced a new strategy game intended for mobile phones, AD 1066 – William the Conqueror. On October 14, 1066, exactly 942 years ago, the first big combat took place: William the Conqueror of Normandy asserted his claims on the English throne and, as a result, one of the grimmest battles of the Middle Ages ensued. Players will be able to recreate the battle of Hastings directly on their mobiles. There's a single purpose in the game – assume command over the Norman forces, and go to war against the English heavy cavalry.

In the Middle Ages, England was, under the Anglo-Saxon leadership, the center of the courtly civilization in Europe. However, when the last Anglo-Saxon king passed away without a descendant, a terrible battle on the succession broke out. Are you able to defeat the Anglo-Saxon leader Harold Godwinson and his frightening armored horsemen, or will they drive you back in the English Channel?

Recruit forces, conquer villages and develop them to castles. Be prepared for the final Battle of Hastings. You will need a lot of tactical skills, because your sanguinary enemies will fight to the last man.

Most important features of the game include: 12 challenging missions in one of the most fascinating periods of history, 9 units each with their own strengths and weaknesses, 9 types of terrain provide tactical diversity, 4 experience levels improve your units, the ability to choose from 9 leaders to enhance your 10 core units, clever artificial intelligence for the Single Player mode, "Hot hand" mode for multiplayer games, Fog of War providing tactical depth and extensive tutorial to get into the game easily.
