SPORE creatures Demo does not start

I downloaded Spore, but I can not make it run: first requested an update of DirectX, which I did, then complained about the lack of a dll (d3dx9_27.dll), which I proceeded to copy. Now I see a window "Could not create the Graphics Device. DirectX is unavailable. [1002]"

What can this be?

Using Vista? If so, go to the Microsoft site, downloaded the dx9_redist. Then install all the libraries missing backwards of dx10 on dx9. The games that support the dx10 use dx10, while those for the 9 use 9.

No. I am on XP.

Is still a problem of DX9. Reinstall, maybe downloading the latest update from Microsoft. The library that you copied (that you gave error), it is because it could not find the libraries.

Ok Mario2, I'll try tonite as you said. As about reinstall, cannot it be directly reinstall instead of uninstall and reinstall? Thanx meanwhile.
