Sound Card for Gamers

Hello Guys,
I read your recommendations for a sound card and I want your confirmations or denials on this.

Game Call of Duty 2 and as the effects Max has the EAX 3.0
I wanted a card for this game and also for the future games and I understand that...
  1. All designate the Creative X-Fi Extreme Audio and even the X-Fi Extreme Gamers right?
  2. The creative creates problems and damage drivers under Vista right?
  3. A good solution would be the ASUS Xonar D2/PM but this has the effect of only 2.0 EAX while Creative is much less expensive for that.

The solution that was indicated or as I understand ... (efficiency, drivers for Vista)
seems to be the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1 Pro Series or even a Extreme Music that is no more in the market.

1) Right, audios are known.
2) They should have put everything in place with the drivers console 2.60 and 2.18 (both in Vista)
3) It is a good alternative as products Razer

There are now X-fi with PCIe interface that left recently and these have the possibility to send a signal encoded Dolby Digital home theater to home through exit tos-optic link or coaxial SP - DIF. Obviously only versions with external rack or bay have this chance!

I am not interested in PCIe. But then buying audigy is not a bad idea? I do not want to spend more.

It's fine as well! One important thing, yesterday I read in a topic that yet the situation of creative with Vista has not improved, so if you intend to go in that direction, adjust it accordingly!
