If developers had not submitted their title as an RPG, I challenge anyone to have guessed. For the first scenes of gameplay unveiled during this presentation have nothing left to show of this size. We stand for Michael Thorton, a bleusaille just enlisted by the CIA and quickly betrayed by the government that employs them. That is what our agent will discover throughout the adventure. It therefore act solo, like a Jason Bourne, to shed full light on this matter which will lead New York to Moscow via Rome.

But back to our presentation. It all starts in the vicinity of a building official Michael must infiltrate to "borrow" some documents. Our host we therefore suggested two ways to proceed. The first degommer the guard at the entrance and go into force. Or the second attempt to deceive on the floor. We propose to opt for soft way, the opportunity to discover the system of dialogue quite original. uring a conversation, Michael may adopt several attitudes, three to be exact: professional, seductive or aggressive. So far nothing really new, or KOTOR Mass Effect made it so. The originality lies elsewhere: whenever a choice of replica will be offered a breakdown of time will put pressure on the player. Too long wait here could arouse suspicions of custody, or even put on alert in case of silence.

Each choice resulting impact on the result of the conversation, it will therefore be both reactive and vigilant. Our demonstrator was also confided that some key interactions will have major consequences on further events. A promise also illustrated by a test of strength between Thorton and a person fell to his thank you. Our hero then had several options: kill, extort or simply quit. In the manner of a Mass Effect, such opportunities should engage the adventure to different endings.

This first successful interaction, Michael can proceed quickly but not to be identified by the FBI agents stationed at the scene. This falls well, we just wanted to get an idea of the combat system. We'll talk to action earlier, is a perfect illustration. Where a Mass Effect mixed real-time and turn by turn, Alpha Protocol is the exclusive choice of the shooting. Obsidian therefore logically opted for a shoulder to guarantee a certain comfort. Not to mention disappointment, saying that the clashes we have still seemed very conventional, and, except for the use of special abilities type firing multiple shooting or powerful, we have not found any real cause for celebration. . For a title that is as far as action-oriented RPG, we were right to expect a little more finesse and strategy.

Specifically, Michael reaping points from experience that the player can then distribute as they see fit to acquire new skills or simply to make them evolve. Classique mais nous decelons enfin cette fameuse dimension RPG. Classical but we finally detect this famous dimension RPG. A Alongside the fighting techniques mentioned above are therefore added the skills of our staff in handling weapons or the evolution of its main features. The personalization Michael also extends its equipment since it can be improved in various ways (cadence, ammunition, silencers and so on.).

Finally, to complete customization, the physical Michael may be subject to some minor. . Our agent will change the face, style of dress, hair, etc. This latter type of customization will be also accessible in one of planques of Thorton. Indeed, as any agent to run self-respecting, Michael degotter will have a place in the shade in each of the cities where it will conduct its investigation. These Safehouse and allow him to change his skin but also to buy food, medicine or even to safeguard its progression. Finally, this small refermons account by the inevitable chapter devoted to the art. The least we can say is that the teams Obsidian still have bread on the board. For now, Alpha Protocol is visually low, blamed textures simplistic and without relief. It is expected therefore some efforts by the developer in the months ahead.

    Conclusion :
Although apparently solid, the gameplay Alpha Protocol still lacks perhaps ambitions. If this is a system of dialogue well thought out, the title of Obsidian reiterates number of ideas already encountered elsewhere. However, we are confident that emerged friendly presentation accompanied by a team motivated and full of envy. By February 2009, Obsidian has fortunately still a little time to refine its proposal, including a realization a little too low.

Obsidian ... Neutral ... I really liked nwn 2, but it was not a gun as the first. The image that I have obsidian is the image of unfinished games.

    Re: Alpha Protocol (Preview)

It’s looking as talky as it is shooty, and looks like it might blend a kind of Splinter Cell approach to action with the kind of branching dialogue and quest options we’ve seen in their other games.
