    Rename Multiple Files

ou can now rename multiple files at once in WinXP. It's real
    simple:
Select several files in Windows Explorer, press F2 and rename one of those files to something else. All the selected files get renamed to the new file name (plus a number added to the end).

There is a tool called File Renamer that can help you for this. I found this tool to use as for bulk file renamer. File Renamer Basic is a powerful utility for renaming folders, files, movies, pictures, etc. This tool has a search function, the program makes it easy to rename a long series of photos. Finally, the software also has an ID Tag editor that allows you to include re-tag your mp3 songs or other compression formats
