    Google Earth for the iPad

Google Earth is really a must have app in any Smartphone. With this application, your iPhone/ipad turns into a window on the world covering the entire planet in detail viewing. You can also display additional content. In this document the term "mobile device" refers to the iPad.

    System Requirements:

To use Google Earth you must have:
    • At least 211 MB free memory
    • A WiFi connection if the WiFi version of the iPhone uses.

The proposed satellite images are the same as those for computer software. Navigation, it, changes. Without a mouse, they are your fingers on the screen that allow you to zoom and move around but also to show the pop-up windows, including Wikipedia articles and photos from the Internet sharing site. The relief mode iPad appears when you enable the "Auto Tilt" and that the tablet is tilted downward.

In the 3D view of the globe there are several ways to navigate:
    • Pots: Place a finger on the screen and drag it in the desired direction. You can also view the 'throw' your finger quickly on the screen.
    • Zoom: Place two fingers simultaneously on the screen and spread them or tap twice with finger on the screen.
    • Zoom out: Place two fingers on the screen simultaneously and bring them together or tap twice with two fingers simultaneously on the screen.

Re: Google Earth for the iPad

The accuracy of the location is displayed depends on the following:
    • Your device: Each versions of the iPhone to your location through the Internet connection are different. 3G versions of the iPhone can also determine your position with the help of the cell tower. All 3G mobile devices are using GPS (Global Positioning System) to decide your position.
    • Available signals (GPS) quality for iPhone 3G does a improved signal for better approximate location.

    Your coordinates and altitude display
    • You can set your latitude and longitude coordinates are displayed by selecting 'Options', select 'Position' option. If the coordinates in the lower window to appear, make sure the option 'Position' is enabled.
    • If you want to customize the way in which the latitude and longitude coordinates are displayed, touch one of the three possible options.
    • You can also switch between a distance in feet or meters when the height displays.

    • When "Auto Tilt" is enabled and your mobile device from horizontal to vertical tilt then you can spin display with Google Earth.

Re: Google Earth for the iPad

    Cache and search history
    • Google Earth stores all the images as well as data which you have seen and therefore this information is displayed in no time to you if you revert back to that area. All information that you have searched is getting stored in the memory known as cache memory.
    • If you want then you will be able to save the disk space by clearing the cache but if you do so then that will slow down the speed because those images needed to be downloaded once again.
    • You can also clear the cache from the option window. Just select 'Clear Memory Cache' from the option. You will get one confirmation window before actually deleting that.
    • Other than this you can also clear the search history if you want. As a result of that you will not be having any of the previous searches as the suggestion.
    • In order to delete the search history, you will have to select "Search History" from the option. Like earlier, you will have to confirm that before actually deleting.
