It is when you install the WHS a couple of stumbling blocks. Subject to the following steps should succeed a clean install.
- Check if motherboard has an updated BIOS and update it if necessary
- If you work with SATA drives then you should consider whether they are operated in Native mode, in AHCI mode or RAID. For the last two variants of the imperative, it needs drivers on a USB stick if IDE drives running as RAID is the same.
- Even if a later panel is to turn then start with one and label them as a system disk. These operate as master or on SATA port 1.
- To change the boot order in BIOS may change so choose boot order from the BIOS boot menu
- When installing any Enter Product Key. This will be rescheduled later.
- During the entire installation dont remove disk from DVD drive.
- After completion of the WHS import, install the motherboard drivers. For nVidia or AMD chip sets, download and install current drivers.
- Run Windows Update and install all security updates and WHS updates. This may be repeated as long as no more updates are offered
- If after installing .NET Framework 3.0, the WHS console causing problems to repair .NET Framework 2.0 then install via Control Panel-> Software
- Now connect the other drives and add to the pool through the WHS Console
- For future emergencies, we recommend installing the Recovery Console. To insert the WHS Install DVD, open a command prompt (Start-> Run, cmd) in the directory X: \ SVR_2003 \ i386 and then go winnt32 / cmdcons run
