How to use Calendar in HTC One X

About Calendar

No way can you miss an important appointment or any event. Create and manage the calendar events, meetings and appointments. You can you HTC One X for syncing with calendars like Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and set up Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync calendar. If you are logged in accounts of social networks, existing calendar appointments in the calendar.

Creating an event

You can create appointments that can be synchronized with Exchange ActiveSync or your Google calendars, as well as appointments to the HTC One X. For doing this you will have to click on the main menu button on the home screen and over there you will have to select Calendar. Now when you have opened the Calendar you can click on the plus icon. Click on the calendar you want to choose the name of the calendar to which you add the event. You can also invite people for doing that you will have to click on the person icon and then select the person you want to invite. After doing that you can also insert and set the event details. And after all this you just have to click on the Save option so that it will save all your changes.

Viewing the Calendar

Click on the Calendar tab. Then you can do any of these steps: In any calendar view you can return to the current date by clicking on today. Appointments in the day, week and agenda views are color-coded to indicate to which account they belong, or calendar type. To find out what each color represents what you will have to click on the down arrow.
Note: If the Calendar tab is not displayed, you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and in that you will have to select edit tab, press and hold calendar and then drag it into the bottom row.

Month view

In the Month view, you see icons on days with appointments. Run in the month view any of the following: Click on a day to view the events of that day. Press and hold to switch to one day to open a menu from which you can also create an appointment or to Day or Agenda view. Emphasize display with their finger up or down the screen to view the previous or next month.

Day and agenda views

The day view would show you a list of appointments for that day, and the Agenda view would display you a list of events in sequential order. If the date is a birthday or an anniversary date of your Facebook friend, you just have to click on it to send a greeting to that person. The day view: You can press and hold for a period of time to make an appointment for that period. Swipe left or right to display on the screen to the previous or the next day. When you see the current weather, click on the weather to get it to change to display a different city. View the event in a different time zone you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and in that you will have to select Dual time zone and in that select the location and then enter a second location.

Week view

The Week view displays an overview of the events of one week. In the week view, you can do this all things like you can press and hold for a period of time to make an appointment for that period. You can click on a date (indicated by colored bars) to view its details. Swipe left or right to display on the screen to the previous or the next few weeks.

Managing Calendar events

Editing an event

You can only change appointments that you have created. For doing that you will have to click on the notepad kind of icon while you are seeing an event. Note: If you edit a recurring appointment, you will be asked if you want to delete just this event or all events. You can also make changes to your appointment. After doing all the changes just click on Save button. Or you can even click on send update if you have contacts invited to this event.

Deleting an event


For doing this you can do any of the following thing: you can click on the three vertical lines icon while you are seeing any event and in that just click on the Delete event option. You can even press and hold the event which you would like to delete and then just click on delete. If the event repeats, then it will ask you whether you want to delete this event or whether you would like to delete all events in the calendar.

Sharing an event

You can send a calendar event as a vCalendar to whom so ever you want to send it just by using Bluetooth or as an attachment in a mail or you can also message it. Proceed to one of the following ways: you can click on the three vertical lines icon while you are seeing any event and in that just click on the Forward option. You can even press and hold the event which you would like to forward. Select how you want to send the appointment.

Accepting or declining a meeting invitation

Go to the tab on invitations to view meeting invitations that you have not yet accepted or rejected.
Important: You need an Exchange ActiveSync account in order to receive meeting invitations in your calendar. If the invitation tab is not visible, you will have to click on the three vertical lines icon and over there you will have to click on Edit tab, press and hold invitations, and then drag it into the bottom row. Click the tab, and then invitations to a meeting invitation. Accept the invitation, assign them off, take it with reservation or suggest another time.
Tip: click the three vertical lines icon to select from other options such as moving the invitation to a folder.

Setting reminders for your events

Do you have a meeting, to which you have to remember? With the calendar, you can easily remember important dates. While you are seeing calendar event you can click on Reminder. Select how far in advance you want to be reminded of the appointment.
Tip: You can set the default reminder time or select a event reminder tone in calendar settings.

Dismissing or snoozing event reminders

If you have at least set a reminder for an appointment, the symbol for an upcoming event. In the notification of the status bar to alert them to it. Open the box alerts. Then just click on the appointment reminder. Proceed to one of the following ways: Select whether you want to repeat all the reminders stop or later. Press the lesser than sign icon to keep the memories in the notification of the status bar.

Showing or hiding calendars

Click the down arrow while you are seeing Calendar view. Choose or clear the calendar which you want to show or hide, and after that just press the lesser than sign icon.
Note: Calendar has to stay in sync on HTC One X, even if they are hidden. You can also create tasks the HTC One X Show or hide.

Changing Calendar settings

You can change the calendar settings to customize the display of appointments and notification of upcoming events. For doing you would have to click on the three vertical line icon when you are seeing the calendar view.
