One look at the HTC X and the web

You can search for information on the HTC One X on the web by using Find. Some applications, such as Contacts or Mail, have their own search engine that you can use to search only within those applications.

Setting for search option

You just have to go to home screen and click on magnifying glass option for Google. Now just click on three virally lines on your screen there you will find setting option. Click on Google search and then you have to do the settings. After you have done with all the settings just click less than arrow button. Click on search for items and select the items you want during the search.

Queries on the Web and the HTC One X

From the Home screen you have to click on magnify glass where you will see Google search option. Then type in the search box where you want to search. As you type are corresponding items on your HTC One X and suggestions from the Google search engine for the web as a list. If what you want in the list of suggestions, select the item to the correct application to open.
Tip: Click arrow button in the search box to enter. New proposals appear and you can add more text or next to a tap to the following suggestion to refine search.

Surfing the Internet

You have to click menu button from the Home screen there you will find Internet option. Click into the URL box at the top. Type your search keywords or address of a webpage. On the web you can click a link to open it, or hold a link for more options. You can also add an e-mail id to send e-mail to that address. Wipe down the screen to quickly enter the URL box and other options.

Switch to Reading Mode

Would you like quiet an article or blog to read? In the read mode, all menus, banners and backgrounds from a web page removed. As you read an article, click on the box kind of icon (where available) to the read mode on or off.

How to see full version of website

At the same time as viewing a webpage, just click on the three vertical buttons to view desktop site.

How to open or switch between tabs in browser

Open multiple browser tabs to easily from one site to another can change. Click while you view a Web page on Tabs. Do one of the following: You can Open a new tab and click on new tab. Or to switch to another browser tab off, wipe your finger to the desired web page. Click a web page to display it in full screen.
Tips: You can close by clicking on the “x” button.

Private browsing

For more privacy you can always use incognito tabs in your web browsers. As browser cookies are not shared and deleted when you close tabs incognito. Pages you are browsing in incognito windows also appear in the history of the browser, except for files that you download or bookmarks you create. Now form home screen you need to click new incognito tab.

Add and manage bookmarks

Bookmark a webpage

Important: Make a bookmark of any web page in normal browser window (and not when you used incognito tab).

When you are viewing any web page just click on Add to. After click that just click on bookmark. Now you can also change the name of the bookmarked page if you require. Click bookmarks to save the bookmark in a new folder. Now on the tab to screen and click on down arrow and select New Folder. Then just click on Done.

How to open a bookmark

Now to open a bookmark just while you are seeing a web site just click on bookmarks. Now just open the bookmark tab and just go to the bookmark which you like to see and then just click on it.
Tip: If you use Google Chrome is set to sync your Google account, click down arrow in the Bookmarks screen, then select the Google account to view bookmarks synchronized.

How to edit a bookmark

As I said before here also the same process in start just when you are viewing a web page click on bookmarks. Now on the bookmark tab just click on three vertically lines on your phone and you will find the option of edit click on it. Now if you want to edit just click on the book with a pen icon at the right hand side of the bookmark where you want to edit. Now after you have done with the all the editing works just click on done.

How to Synchronize your bookmarks with Google Chrome

To create bookmarks from your computer you just have to go to Google Chrome browser and sync them on HTC One X.

Important: The Google Chrome PC browser, you must sign into your Google account and Google Chrome synchronization. Make sure you are logged into your Google account whenever your bookmarks from Google Chrome on your computer store.

Now after doing this just slide the notification window open and then click on gear button which is also known as setting button in there you will find Accounts & sync option. Now just click on your Google account and then disable the Internet in sync.

How to save internet content for later use

Capture web pages to them later without an Internet connection to read. Some video clips in web pages can also be added to the Watch List so that you do in your free time can quickly find and view.

Important: Only Web pages which are stored on the HTC X One. You must connect to the Internet when opening linked pages and video clips.
When you are seeing any webpage just click on Add to option now over there you will see two options click on reading list and watch list.

Viewing items in your Reading list or Watch list

When you are seeing a browser screen just click on saved. Now on the saved tab you can do any of the following things. Click on reading List under the thumbnail of the webpage that you want to open. And click under the tap list on the thumbnail of the video clip you want to open. And if you want to see more option just click on three vertical lines.

How to check the browsing history

When you are seeing a browser screen you just have to click on three vertical lines and you will see History option so just click on that. And if you do not want to do that you can also click and hold on less than sign button. Now on history tab you just have to click on time period to see the list of WebPages which you have visited till date.

How to clean your browser history

When you are seeing a browser screen you just have to click on three vertical lines and you will see the history option so just click on it. Now when you enter in that once again click on that three vertical lines and there you will find clear all option by clicking on that you will clear all the history in your browser.

Files and applications download

You can download applications directly from your favorite download sites.
Important: Files and applications you download from the Web can be from unknown sources. Even from HTC One X and to protect personal information, we advise you only to download and install those you trust.

Open your web browser and go to the website where you can download the desired file. Do one of the following thing you can follow the download instructions for apps on the website. Or keep a picture or a Web link button and then tap Save Link. Before you can install the downloaded app, you need to install third party applications on your HTC One X for that you need to go to Settings in that go to Security and in that you need to go to Unknown sources.

How to view your downloaded files

To view the downloaded files you need to go to your home screen and over there you will have to click on the main home button and then just click on downloads. And now if you want to open any downloaded file than just click on that downloaded file. It will open that file.

Browser options

The web browser to suit your way of browsing. Set display, privacy and security options when using the web browser. So for doing that you will have to just click on the three vertical lines and in that you can go to setting option.

When you are seeing a browser screen you just have to click on three vertical lines and you will see settings option so just click on that. Now in that you will see a general tab in side that you will find an option of Set homepage. So in that you will have to select the homepage while you will like to keep as your homepage.

Choosing when to show content compatible with Adobe Flash

Choose the Adobe Flash material on a Web page you want to watch and when you want to view. When you are seeing a browser screen you just have to click on three vertical lines and you will see settings option so just click on that. Now in that just click on advanced tab and in that you will have to enable plug-ins and Flash and in that you will have to On request.
After you have selected On request, you can use the Adobe Flash material by clicking on down arrow on the web.

Facebook for HTC Sense

If you sign into your Facebook account from the Accounts and sync settings or the Facebook application (pre-installed or downloaded) you are automatically logged into Facebook for HTC Sense. You may also have Facebook for HTC Sense permission to connect with your Facebook account.

With Facebook for HTC Sense, you can do many things like you can add your Facebook contacts and their instant status updates in your Contacts. Even you can view Photos in Gallery of Facebook. You can even see the Facebook status updates of any of your friends. You can even check Facebook events and birthdays of friends in your mobile Calendar.

Twitter for HTC Sense

If you are logged in to Twitter for HTC Sense, you can see and even do many things like you can see your Twitter friends and their latest tweets. You can even check any tweets from your friend and even you can tweet them on Friend Stream.
Note: If you have the Twitter application (pre-installed or downloaded), you are logging on to Twitter for HTC Sense not signed up for the Twitter application and vice versa. If you both want to use the same Twitter account, you must both register with the same login.

About Friend Stream

If you use Friend Stream you can always get any kind of updates or even you can share anything what you feel in any social networking sites.
When you are seeing a browser screen you just have to click on main home button menu and you will see Friend Stream option so just click on that.
Now when you click on anyone of your friends update you can do many things like you can write a comment, you can even like anyone’s Facebook comment or post. You can even check all the photos in your friend’s album. You can even view the tweets if a Web link is shared, you can see the published web page directly below the tweet.

Now when you click on someone’s photo or name you can view the full profile of that person, you can ever check your friend’s person walls. And in tweeter you can also view the tweets of any person. You can click on the down arrow to display posts of a specific social network. Move to another tab for more options. You can click on the three vertical lines and then click on tabs button to edit the tabs from Friend Stream to customize.

How to enjoy Facebook in Friend Stream

Publish your status updates, write messages on walls, or check in one place.
Posting a message on a friend's Facebook wall. In Friends Stream just click on down arrow you will find Facebook over there click on that. Now click on plus icon it will take you to My wall, You can also click on a friend from the list. There you can enter the message. If you want to attach a photo you can just click on the attachment icon. And after doing that you can click on post.

Commenting on and liking Facebook posts

After a status update on the All tab updates tapped, you can do the following things like click on a photo or the name of the album appears in your status update to the photos in the album with Gallery to view and comment on place there. Click Fun to update the status of others to appreciate. Type in the text box and type what you update the status of the other finds.

Checking in to a place

Let your Facebook friends know where you are from one place to check.
Important: In order to find your location, you must also enable location sources in Settings and in there you will have to go to Location. Now after going to location tab you will have to click on map location icon. Now you can select any place form the list. Now click on Check in. With this you can also add a status message and tag the friends with you. Now after doing all this just click on Check in.

Use Google Plus

Google plus allows you the updates of your friends, publish your own updates, and friends in your circle to chat on Google plus. Now if you want to open Google plus you have to go to the home screen and in there you will have to click on main menu button and in there you will find Google plus.

How to chat in Google Talk

Google Talk is basically an instant messenger from Google. By using this you can chat with other who are also using Google Talk. Now if you want to open Google Talk you have to go to the home screen and in there you will have to click on main menu button and in there you will find Google Talk. SO it will open you messenger and there you can chat with all the users who are added and are online at that time.

How to Tweet in Friend Stream

After going to Friend Stream just click on down arrow icon there you will find Twitter for HTC Sense. Now over there just click on plus icon. After clicking that you just have to enter your tweet which you would like to add like to add. You can also add pictures or even you can add your location where exactly you are at that moment by just clicking on attachment icon. After you have entered all the information you will just have to click on post.

How to search for twitter users to follow

You can just click on any of the tabs and just click on magnify glass icon. You will see a tab where you will have to enter a twitter name of any users you are looking for. After you have entered the name you will have to click on magnify glass icon again so that it will start searching for that user. And now after you get that person just click the three vertical lines on your phone which is also known as option button and in that you will find Follow option, Just click on that and you will be following that person after that.

How to unfollow a twitter user

You just have to go thee the tweets tab and after going over there you will have to click on the twitter user which you don’t not want to follow hence forth. Just click on the three vertical lines and there you will see and option Unfollow just click on that and from that time you will stop following that person.

How to send a direct message

Let me tell you first only that this option is just available for those who are following you. So now go to direct message tab and click on plus button, there it will ask you to enter a name of a twitter user and click on it. Now after that you just have to enter a message and after you have entered your message you will have to click on post button which will post your message to that user. And the other way to send a direct message is to press and hold a tweet of that person whom you want to send the message. After that you will just have to click on send direct message on the option menu.

Retweeting or replying a tweet.

Now if you want to Retweet or reply to any tweet you just have to go to all tweets tab and over there you will have to click the tweet on which you would like to retweet or you would like to reply. Now just click reply or retweet. You can also insert any reply you want to or even you can add a personal message to that tweet. And after entering just click on Post button that will post all the things you have entered in that message.
