How to Add Cover Art and Metadata in to the Media Center Movie Library via Media Center Master

Windows Media Center user might be already aware that the Movie Library is a bit bland, anyways one can now try to liven up their Movie Library using the “Media Center Master” , which is a Media Center Master that helps to get the metadata from the web for WMC as well as for the other HTPC applications as well. It is supported by both Vista and Windows 7.
In order to start with the process one of the important task is to organize the files properly, which means that each movie file must have a different and unique folder name and in order to do the same just follow the steps that has been mentioned below:
    • First you will have to get a FIle2folder app which is a portable app and is capable of creating and moving files into a folder with the name of the file name. It is actually helpful if there are a large not of files else you can do the same manually as well. Anyways for those who have a large no of files will have to just download and run the .exe file and they don’t have to do any installation.

    • After running the exe just browse the browse for the folder. File2folder.

    • When you are done with the above task them just click on Move.

    • After that you will be able to see the progress

    • After the process gets finished you will get the entire movie file in their individual folders.

    • Suppose you don’t want to continue with the same then you can just click on undo and after that the process will be undone.

    • In case you are willing to get the folder monitored for new files then you can just click on the Start button and after that the File2folder will process the new files after every 180 seconds and to stop the same you just have to click on Stop.

    • When you are done with the installation process just make sure that you are pulling out proper information for Media Center, for that just open the Media Center Master and then select Application from the menu and then click on the Settings & Preferences.

    • After that click on the Movies tab and then check mark the box for Create dvdid.xml Meta data (WMC Video Library) and then click on save.

    • Now one can select the folders that they are willing scan by the Media Center Master and for that one has to Select Application and then click on Set scan folders….

    • Then you will get a Scan Folder List window, so here just click on add new.
    • After that just browse the folder that you are willing to scan and then click on ok.

    • When you complete the process of adding folder or folders then just proceed by clicking on done.

    • If at all it is not able to identify a particular movie you will be asked to identify manually by feeding the IMDB ID number.

    • As far as the IMDB ID is concerned you can get the same by going to the IMDB site and then checking out for the movie, when you find it then just copy the IMDB ID from the address bar.

    • After that just paste the same IMDB ID in the text box and then click on ok.

    • If by chance the Media Center Master incorrectly tags any movies files then you can correct the Misidentified Files and for that you will have to manually edit the metadata. In the “Media in your collection” window just right click on the misidentified file and then click on the “select Organize files and edit metadata” option from the list.

    • Now just check out for the IMDB ID from the imdb site as it has been already shown above and then paste the same in the respected field.

    • When you are done with the same then just click on Save and then on done.

    • After that just navigate to the main interface and then right click on the movie and then click on “Fetch meta data” in the list.

    • So now the new metadata will get downloaded and updated as well.

When the process of the new metadata will gets finished then you will be able to enjoy your new cover art and metadata. Hope that helps.
