KGB Archiver- for converting Compressing 1GB File to 10MB

KGB Archiver is basically a free software which is capable of Compressing 1GB File to 10MB, the data compression utility of the KGB Archiver is based on PAQ6 algorithm and that has a AES-256 encryption which is quite powerful as well. This software can work on Windows as well as Linux. The Compression ratio of the KGB Archiver is high and as it is having a high compression levels the time required for compressing the file also goes high according to the size of the files. The compression ratio will be differing according to the format of the file. The file that gets compressed with KGB Archiver gets saved with its own extension and during the decompression the file format gets recognized automatically. Files that are compressed with KGB archiver can be extracted with KGB archiver only and not with the other compression software’s and this is the biggest drawback of this software. One can chose compression level from high, maximum, normal, low, very weak and the compression time will vary accordingly.

    Things to remember:
When you are sending file to anyone that has been compressed with the KGB Archiver then the other person should also have the same software installed on his system, as it is mentioned above the file compressed with KGB Archiver can only be decompressed with KGB Archiver only.

    System Requirement of KGB Archiver:
As it is having high compression ratio you will have to have the below system hardware configuration:
    • 256 MB RAM
    • 1.5 GHz Processor

    Features:
    • It is capable of supporting .zip files as well as native .kgb files.
    • It is based on AES-256 Encryption and is capable of creating self-extracting archives as well.
    • It supports Multi-language such as German, Arabic, Greek, Japanese, Spanish and a no of other languages as well.
    • It supports the Unicode in File Systems as well as User Interface.
    • It helps in creating a Password protected compressed file.

This tool can be powerful but what about your data integrity. It is possible that you can loose the data quality here. I had not tested this, but the extraction process is too high. It is better if you can use winrar because in that your data remains too secure and it is not really corrupted. I notice a number of time KGB does not work properly. I had tried to compress the same to lowest format but still face the same issue.
