Lock your computer with a Mobile phone

When you're away from your computer, you lock your session to prevent anyone access your data when you are away.

To simplify the task and avoid oversights, you can use the Bluetooth functionality of your mobile phone.

BtProx the free will and constantly monitor the Bluetooth connection between your computer and your mobile phone. The range of Bluetooth is limited, as soon as you walk away about ten feet from your computer, the Bluetooth connection will be cut and BtProx automatically lock your Windows session, protecting your computer and your data in your absence.

Download and install BtProx:

BtProx is free software that you can easily download and install. Here is the installation Process:

• First download BtProx from here.
• Save the file.
• Once downloaded, open the.
• Click the Install button.
• Finally, click on Close.

Setting up your Mobile with PC:

At first, you need to associate your mobile phone with your computer. Make sure the Bluetooth is enabled on your computer as your phone.

• In the Windows notification area, click right mouse button on the Bluetooth icon.
  
  
• Click Add Device.
  
  
• The detection window of the Bluetooth device is displayed. After a few seconds you should see your mobile phone. Select it and click Next.
  
  
• Windows will display a code to enter to validate the pairing with your phone.
  
  
• On your phone, enter the code displayed on your computer and click OK.
  
  
• Your computer and your phone are then coupled. Click the Close button.

Bluetooth Monitoring:

Now that the pairing is done with your Bluetooth device, configure BtProx to monitor this connection. Here is how to do that:

• Double click the icon on your desktop BtProx.
  
  
• Click ... next to Device Used.
  
  
• Select your cell phone and click OK.
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Set the Timeout field in the time before the automatic lock after the death of your Bluetooth device. Enter 0 for an immediate lock.
  
  
• Click the Start button to activate the monitoring of mobile phone and automatic locking.
  
  
• Click Hide to reduce the window in the system tray.
  
  
• When you're away from your computer, an alert warns you of imminent automatic locking.
  
  
• To cancel the lock, click the right mouse on the icon and click BtProx Abord pending lock.
  
  
• To unlock your computer, simply enter your password and click OK. Note that subsequently BtProx is automatically launched when Windows starts up and activate the monitoring as soon as your phone is in range.
