Well it was my misunderstanding that BlackBerry PIM is poorer than that of default PIM. At first you cannot find anything special in Blackberry calendars. However there are number of features which are hidden and which you can use efficiently and you can easily become quite fast thumb typist. You can use BlackBerry PIM efficiently if you can use the following tricks. Well these tricks will work on BlackBerryOS 3.7.x, 3.8 and 4.x.

How to add appointment quickly?

• You have to spin scrollwheel in order to choose time. Well this chosen will be in nearest hours.
• Now you should start to enter name of appointment and simply press enter. You need not require clicking on scrollwheel again. Well you have to enter more accurate time then simply press enter second time.
• You have to hold Alt and spin the scrollwheel to add : 15 :30 :45 at the end of the Appointment and press enter after finishing with entering appointment. In case of modifying the length of appointment you need to spin scrollwheel without holding Alt key.

How to modify Default remainder?

• If you usually use to set default reminder of every 30 or 60 minute then you have to add appointment for this particular situation.
• You have to choose Calendar and go to Options. Here you have to enter parameter according to your requirement.

How to Modify or Reschedule appointment quickly?

• From calendar you have to spin the scrollwheel in order to choose the time of already existing appointment and simply press enter or otherwise you can double click on Scrollwheel
• Using the above mentioned way you will be able to easily edit or modify the name,time or date of the Appointment.
• In case of modifying date or time you have to choose time digit and simultaneously press and hold ALT and scrollwheel in order to add new date or time.

How to change DISPLAYED DATE in calendar quickly?

• You have to simply press and hold Alt key when you are using scrollwheel to choose date.
• If you are having cursor at the top of the date rather than anywhere in calendar then you will be able to change month and year quickly. You can also utilize Spacebar in order to move forward by 1 day at a time rather using Scrollwheel.

How to erase appointment quickly?

• Well it’s very simple. You have to Spin Scrollwheel in order to choose desired appointment and simply hit backspace from the keypad.

How to view Agenda screen?

• You have to hit on Scrollwheel and choose View Agenda. If you want to set this screen as default screen for Calendar view then you have to launch Calendar and choose Calendar option and go for change default view.

Shortcut keys to view Agenda screen

• You have to press D from the Agenda Screen in order to see day view mode so that you can quickly add appointments. Other method is to hit C in order to get detailed view while entering new Appointment.
• Similarly you can hit W to get Week view and M for Month view. Finally for current day you have to hit T for the same.

To get Weekly or Monthly calendar use the following steps.

• If you not interested to use Agenda screen as default view for your calendar then you need to simply spin your scrollwheel and choose any of from View Day , View Week, View Month.
