Forefront TMG 2010: Add a 2nd server to an array EMS
Add a second server MS Forefront Threat Management Gateway TMG 2010 to an existing array a server maintained by EMS, following a procedure similar to that defined post in this blog as MS Forefront TMG 2010: Integration into an EMS . This second server, provide the required redundancy in an organization, while providing mechanisms to implement a load balancing system. The process begins by attaching the standalone server to an existing array.
This action will initialize a wizard to guide you through the process of joining the server to an array. The first step is to assign the server to a server maintained by parent EMS.
Once defined in the next step the EMS server and credentials necessary to connect to the same operations can be selected by the parent union. For this, the wizard displays the different existing arrays and managed by the EMS server, being selected one where you want to join the new server. For successful operation the user performing the operation must have Administrator privileges matrix for Forefront TMG 2010.
Re: Forefront TMG 2010: Add a 2nd server to an array EMS
The last step in the earlier part of this tip begins the process of joining the server to the array, starting the process of change at the level of rules necessary to be able to establish effective communication with the EMS server. To verify that the configuration is correct service level needs to ensure that all are operating for each of the member servers in the array.
In order to complete successfully the communication processes within the matrix by different members of the same, it is advisable to use a specific network adapters to communicate between the different members of the matrix. This release both internal and external adapters of internal traffic, which in one way or another, in addition to requiring a very quick response, can be a problem in the decline in performance for such networks. Since intra-array communication will be established by a network other than those set by default during the installation process, we must build this new network object in the Forefront TMG server 2010. If unsuccessful when you try to apply the change of designation of the IP address of communication, will return an error as shown in the picture below.
