Creating Custom Watermarks in Microsoft Word 2007

Logos, editing notes or structures - is the large number of objects that may pale in the background of a document appear as a watermark. In Microsoft Word 2007, the request was met and reviewed the function of many users to deal with watermark.

A watermark in the word processor is a custom text or graphic object that is automatically placed behind the document text. Watermark design a more interesting document or indicate the status of the document, by identifying a document as a draft or copy. Watermarks in Print Layout view, visible in the view Full Screen Reading mode or in a printed document. The term watermark comes from the time the paper was scooped with plenty of fibers on a screen. A watermark is created when provided on the screen using a template for it, was that this part of the paper was thinner. held against the light that thinner bodies have been seen as a watermark. Watermarks in Microsoft Word so objects that are suspended in the header or footer. They often have a pale gray color and are made transparent to 50%. With these general guidelines could be manually any graphic or any text box or any AutoShape with text as a watermark placed behind the text. In Word, there is always an adjustment when formatting graphic objects that this selection of "Watermarks" or "Faded" (depending on version) which assigned a watermark usual properties. In Word 2007, the function has been simplified considerably compared to previous versions - you can choose a prepared watermark from a catalog with text watermarks or create a watermark using a custom text itself.

Re: Using Custom Watermarks in Microsoft Word 2007

Text watermark -

Text watermarks are objects that contain a character in the foreground. In actual sense they are AutoShapes with text to incorporate as an object in the header of all pages of the document, with angled, gray color, and half the task of transparency of the watermark. Such a watermark is created with any text and inserted in the document:
  1. Click the Page Layout tab in the Page Background group click Watermark.
  2. Choose one of the prepared watermark. If the watermark can not find where you want, click Custom Watermark.
  3. In the Printed Watermark dialog box, make the option text watermark. Then are the controls in the lower area. In the list are the prepared text, but you can always enroll in another text input field. Sorry, forget Word 2007, the entries outside this document again and will offer in another document again. It is therefore recommended to set up for the recurring use of documents with a watermark a document template and use it to create new documents. Alternatively, add your own watermark to the catalog, as will be described later.
  4. After setting all properties by clicking on Apply to preview the document visible, OK confirms the action and close the dialog box.

Image watermark -

With the above steps can also be used as a suitable graphic image watermark. Here the emphasis is on "suitable" because Word is itself not much to change the graphic. In step three image watermark is the option chosen, with the elements of scaling and washing out the setting is completed and added the watermark to the document. Whoever takes the trouble has made with its own water mark who wishes to secure the reward of its work for later use. In Word 2007, also created a unique watermark is placed in the catalog. Add above a text watermark or image watermark described in the document. Microsoft Word they are enshrined as objects in the header. Then, the following steps:
  1. Double-click in the area of the header to get access to the watermark.
  2. Click the watermark to select it to.
  3. Click the Page Layout tab in the Page Background group click Watermark.
  4. Choose the menu selection in the watermark catalog store completely.
You will see a dialog box created with the new block access to the Quick Parts. The Quick Parts in Word 2007 as AutoText, watermarks, cover pages, etc. are managed in catalogs and not stored as in the previous versions in the Normal.dot, but in a separate file called Building Blocks.dotx. (Note: You can access it outside of the described functions in the Insert, Text group, Quick Parts for blocks). For the deposition of the previously selected watermark is sufficient to create new block in the dialog box, a name given to the rest of the settings remain unchanged. Then the choice is your own block in the prepared after clicking on the image watermark to find. But beware! When you quit Word is the demand, whether changes to the file named Building Blocks.dotx to be saved. This must be confirmed absolutely, so that the watermark is included in the final catalog.
