How to configure WSUS clients by Registry

What happens when you do not have a policy domain where we can send to customers? Whether or if we set local policies or best solution, do it the Windows Registry (Registry). How to use the computer's local policy is set by GPO identical except that instead of edit the policy domain you open the Local Policy Editor and modify the global policy.

The other option is to create a .Reg file with all parameters and distribute it in the PC either manually or with an application for deployment to be implemented. It then commented entries in the Windows registry settings involved in WSUS.

The options related to the Automatic Updates service found on:
HKLM \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ WindowsUpdate \ AU

Once inside this route you can configure the following parameters:

You can build a large file with a .Reg and distribute the system or application that most prefer. In my case I prefer to use GPO, but if you do not have a domain or want to manually configure anything, these are the entries in the Windows registry to participate in shaping the AU.

Re: How to configure WSUS clients by Registry

I appreciate the response, I've created. reg file with the parameters you recommended. But I have several questions, and find out if my pc with windows xp it is updating or not?. I have Windows 2000 with WSUS installed and I can configure from http: \ \ win2000 \ WSUSAdmin in WUServer registry entry that I put the server url? And another question in the administration of wsus on the team, I do not see any equipment, such as add or do. I tell you that yes, if you create entries exist to apply. You can create them in a machine, and then export them by double clicking on it .Reg import them on another PC. These tickets are for Windows XP.
