How to Sync Audiobook files to your Zune

If you have a lot of audiobook files with you and you want to sync them to your Zune then it will not work properly if you are using Overdrive Media Console. The reason behind this is that Overdrive appends each file with the part number during the synchronization procedure. To avoid this problem, here is a small tip on how to sync audiobook file onto your Zune.

What all software do I need?

There is not much requirement for this tip to perform. You just need to make sure you have downloaded and installed Overdrive Media Console software and Zune Overdrive.Wax Creator 4.1 or later.

How to Synchronize?

1. Choose the folder where the audiobook files are stored.
2. Optionally, you can select a book cover from your computer provided it is JPG format. By default, Overdrive have an inbuilt image.
3. Put in the Author and Title of the book.
4. Create a new file with .WAX extension. A confirmation of the creation of the file will be prompted.
5. Start transferring your files to the Overdrive Media Transfer Wizard.

How to add new Audiobook to your Zune

1. Start OverDrive Media Console.
2. Download an audiobook with the help of appropriate software.
3. Connect Zune with your computer with the help of the USB syncing cable provided to you.
4. In order to transfer an audiobook from OverDrive to the Zune device, click "Transfer Wizard" at the top of the screen. Follow the wizard to transfer the audiobook to your Zune.

How to remove audiobooks from your Zune

If you are unhappy with any of your audiobooks and are thinking of to remove or delete it from your Zune then here is a better option for you. You can do the same with your OverDrive Media Console through the following steps:

1. Choose your title from the list which you want to remove and click 'Transfer'
2. Go to "Advanced Options"
3. Select 'Browse'.
4. You are not allowed to either delete the complete folder or select one by one. Make your choice, 'Right Click' and select 'Delete'
