For most users, the installation of Internet Explorer 8 did not lead to any concern. And for most of them, the performance of IE8 does not present anomaly. Let's face it: the browser is stable and is far faster than previous versions. However, there are many users who had problems in the process of installing the program. These are two specific problems: the slowness of the browser, once installed, and malfunctions in accelerators and Web Slices. If you're one of those users, in this article we give you the solution so that IE is no longer a problem.
1. If you have problems installing IE8, try the following:
Start by checking that your machine is in top condition, because it can be a problem on your computer and not IE8. Download and run MSRT (Malicious Software Removal Tool is a tool that integrates Microsoft to its regular updates to counter the presence of some malicious software on all computers using Windows).
Verify that your operating system version is: either Windows XP Service Pack 2 or SP3, or Vista Service Pack 1. Attention! IE8 does not work with the Beta or RC Services Pack. You must use the final versions! The ideal is to have Windows XP SP3
Disable antivirus and antispyware before starting the installation of IE8. Some of these software block update of system files that make up IE8.
2. If you have problems with the functionality of Internet Explorer 8:
- You can also refer the thread How to fix Internet Explorer 8 or 7 in windows 7 before going through the below mentioned procedure
- If the search bar on the page ([Ctrl] + [F]) is blank when you open it, go and type the following commands (validating each line with [Enter], remember):
- C:
- CD C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM32
- REGSVR32 Oleacc.dll
Note: In Windows Vista, the command "Run" (which is quite useful in XP), does not appear by default in the Start menu. To open it, do the following:
- Right-click on the Start menu and select Properties
- In the window that appears, select the Start Menu tab and click Customize
- In the window that opens, find Run Command, check the box and then click OK in both windows open, if not the modification will not be taken into account:
- Now you just have to re-open the Start menu and see that it appears the command "Run").
