    Accelerate Windows 7 start up

When Windows starts, many programs are loaded automatically. The launch of some of them at startup is perfectly justified as firewalls, antivirus, download manager. Others, however, are not necessarily required and time. The System Configuration utility in Windows will allow you to easily choose the software to allow the Windows startup and disable those.

You can also save a few seconds by disabling automatic defragmentation of the system that takes place every time you start Windows. In fact, Windows Vista and Windows 7 defragment system files every time you start the PC. However, if you defragment your disk regularly, this automatic feature is unnecessary and it slows the release of Windows.

Finally, Windows Vista and Windows 7 have a original function, ReadyBoost, which very significantly accelerates the loading of software copying in a flash preloading external files optimized for Vista, 7, and every program.

In practice, this function gives excellent results when used with a USB drive fast. With these few tips, so you can gain a few precious seconds to boot Windows 7. These tips also work with Windows Vista.

Choose programs to run at startup:

Many programs are loaded automatically when Windows starts. The launch of some of them at startup is perfectly justified as firewalls, antivirus, download manager. Others, however, are not necessarily needed as the QuickStart Microsoft Office, the Officers Winamp, RealPlayer, Java, or even software installed without your knowledge ... You can prevent their launch.

    • Click the Start button, type msconfig in the search field ... and confirm by pressing Enter.
    • In the window that appears, open the Startup tab.

    • The list of all running programs at startup is displayed. Then uncheck the boxes to disable the software. Click OK.

    • Click on Exit without restarting.

    • If an error occurs, you can easily find the automatic execution of the software by checking the box again.

    Disable the boot-time defrag:

By default, Windows Vista and Windows 7 defragment system files every time you boot the PC. However, if you defragment your disk regularly, this automatic feature is unnecessary and it slows the release of Windows. To disable it, you must edit the Windows registry.

    • Click the Start button, type the command regedit in the Search box and press the Enter key.
    • In the editor that opens, scroll down the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Dfrg, BootOptimizeFunction.
    • Double click on the value Optimizecomplete.
    • In the Value Data field, enter No to Yes's place. Click OK.
    • Finally close the window of the Registry Editor. The change will be effective from the next Windows startup.
