    Use Adobe Extension Manager from command line

    Adobe Extension Manager from command line


    Basic concepts of the command-line Extension Manager :
    - To run the command line in Windows, select Start> All Programs> Accessories> Command Prompt. On the Mac OS run Terminal, double-clicking its icon in the folder «Applications / Utilities».
    - In Windows, go to the following folder:
    ----- C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Adobe Extension Manager CS5 \
    - At the command prompt, enter the executable file in the following format (including the quotation marks):
    ----- Windows: "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"
    ----- Mac OS: "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"
    - After the executable file, enter the command.
    - The following list describes all available commands.
    ----- Package Creating expansion pack. Required attributes: mxi, and mxp, or zxp.
    ----- Install Installing extensions. Mandatory attribute: mxp or zxp.
    ----- Remove Removing extension. Required attributes: product, extension.
    ----- Enable Activating expansion. Required attributes: product, extension.
    ----- Disable Disabling the extension. Required attributes: product, extension.
    ----- Timeout Specifies the time in seconds, during which the Extension Manager expects completion of the product before making the next command. Must be a team after install / enable / disable / remove, and should be a positive integer from 0 to 1000. Below are examples of correct usage.
    ----- Locate Find the necessary product in the working environment Extension Manager. Mandatory attribute: product.
    ----- Suppress Block dialog box, license agreement and the message that the operation succeeded in the installation process. This command should be entered before the command «install». Attributes: None.
    ----- Locale Specifying the region during the installation. This command should be entered before the command «install». Mandatory attribute: lang.

    The following list describes all available attributes.
    - mxi The name and location of the file extension is installed.
    - mxp Specify the name and location of the batch file in a format MXP.
    - zxp Specify the name and location of the batch file in a format ZXP.
    - product Specifying the product using the extension.
    - extension Specifies the name extension (which is specified in MXI).
    - lang Specifying the language code


    Creating expansion pack from the command line :
    - Navigate to the folder Applications Extension Manager.
    - Enter the following command, specifying your own attribute values:
    ----- Windows (format MXP): "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"-package mxi = "c: \ moyfayl.mxi" mxp = "c: \ moyfayl.mxp"
    ----- Windows (format ZXP): "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"-package mxi = "c: \ moyfayl.mxi" zxp = "c: \ moyfayl.zxp"
    ----- Mac OS (format MXP): "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-package mxi = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.mxi" mxp = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.mxp "
    ----- Mac OS (format ZXP): "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-package mxi = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.mxi" zxp = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.zxp "
    - Install and test the extension to ensure correct operation of all components.

    Installing the command line :
    - Navigate to the folder Applications Extension Manager.
    - Enter the following command, specifying your own attribute values:
    ----- Windows (format MXP): "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"-package mxi = "c: \ moyfayl.mxi" mxp = "c: \ moyfayl.mxp"

    ----- Mac OS (format MXP): "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-package mxi = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.mxi" mxp = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.mxp "
    ----- Mac OS (format ZXP): "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-package mxi = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.mxi" zxp = "/ test / demo / moyfayl.zxp "
    - To block the License Agreement dialog box, and a message that the operation succeeded, add the command «suppress» before the team «install», as shown below:
    ... -Suppress-install mxp = «c: \ fayl.mxp"
    - To specify the region, add the command «locale» and set the attribute «lang» before the team «install», as shown below:
    ... -Locale lang = «country»-install mxp = «c: \ fayl.mxp"
    - Test the extension to ensure correct operation of all components.


    Removing extensions from the command line :
    - Navigate to the folder Applications Extension Manager.
    - Enter the following command, specifying your own attribute values:
    ----- Windows: "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"-remove product = "Dreamweaver CS5" extension = "Sample"
    ----- Mac OS: "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-remove product = "Dreamweaver CS5" extension = "Sample"
    - With the attribute «product» specify the product that uses this extension. - With the attribute «extension» specify the name of expansion.


    Disabling extensions from the command line :
    - Navigate to the folder Applications Extension Manager.
    - Enter the following command specifying your own attribute values:
    ----- Windows: "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"-disable product = "Dreamweaver CS5" extension = "Sample"
    ----- Mac OS: "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-disable product = "Dreamweaver CS5" extension = "Sample"
    -With the attribute «product» specify product that uses switchable extension.
    - With the attribute «extension» specify the name of expansion.


    Find the necessary product in the working environment Extension Manager :
    - Navigate to the folder Applications Extension Manager.
    - Enter the following command, specifying your own attribute:
    ----- Windows: "Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe"-locate product = "Dreamweaver CS5"
    ----- Mac OS: "/ Applications / Adobe Extension Manager CS5/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Extension Manager CS5"-locate product = "Dreamweaver CS5"
    - With the help of product attributes specify the product that you want to find.
