How to create a contact sheet

With the disposal of its images on one page, a contact sheet for previewing and easily classify groups of images. You can create and automatically insert a page with thumbnails on the Contact Sheet II command.

1. Use one of the following methods:
   
   (Photoshop) Choose File> Automate> Contact Sheet II.
   
   • (Bridge) Select a folder of images or image files out. Bridge On the menu, choose Tools> Photoshop> Contact Sheet II. If you do not select specific images, contact the board includes all the images you see displayed in Adobe Bridge. Once the dialog box Contact Sheet II open, you can select a different folder of images or other images open.
     
   • Note: Click to select an image in Bridge. Click while holding down the Shift key to select a series of images. Click while holding down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) to select noncontiguous images.
     
2. In the dialog box Contact Sheet II, specify the images to use in selecting one of the following options in the menu Use the Source Images section:
3. Open Documents Uses all the images currently open in Photoshop.
   
   
   
   
   
   
4. Folder You can click Browse (Windows) or Select (Mac OS) to specify the folder containing the images to use. Select Include all subfolders to include images of sub-folders.
   
5. Selected images in Bridge Use of images displayed in Bridge. All images in Bridge are used unless you select specific images before using the Contact Sheet II command. Images in subfolders are not included.
   
6. In the Document section, specify the size, resolution and color mode of the contact sheet. Select Flatten All Layers to create a contact sheet with all images and text on a single layer. Uncheck this option to create a contact sheet where every image and legend are on a single layer.

7. In section Thumbnails, specify the options available thumbnails.

• In the Place menu, choose to have the thumbnails across first (from left to right and from top to bottom) or down first (from top to bottom and from left to right).
• Enter the number of columns and rows for each contact sheet. The maximum dimensions of each thumbnail are displayed to the right with an overview of the layout set.
• Select Use automatic spacing to allow Photoshop to automatically space the thumbnails in the contact sheet. If you deselect this option, you can specify vertical and horizontal spacing around thumbnails. The summary of the contact sheet is automatically updated in real time (as you set the spacing) in the dialog box.
• Select Rotate to adapt better to rotate the image, whatever their orientation, so as to better adapt to the contact sheet.

8. Select Use the file name in legend, in order to associate the file name of the source image to the thumbnail. Use the menu to specify the font and the text of the legend.

9. Click OK.
