By default, iPad doesn't come with GPS feature. This was the major drawback of Apple iPad due to which people have recently started looking for its alternatives or crack their iPad to get GPS capabilities. So I thought to provide a simple and easy way to enable GPS on your iPad in order to get Wi-Fi. All you need is BTstack GPS application. With this application, you will be able to communicate with external Bluetooth GPS devices.
The following are the steps to enable GPS on your iPad to get WIFI connection:
1. Stop bluetooth on your iPad by going to the Settings app.
2. Start BTStack GPS.
3. It will then search for the external GPS devices. As soon it finds one, it will try to setup a connection with that device and provides you with the indication once the process is done.
4. Now it will try to lock with the orbit satellites which will henceforth provide it the GPS data.
5. Once it is completed, it will show you your current location on the map.
BTstack GPS has been tested to work on iPod 2G and 3G, all iPhones, and iPads running firmware 3.0 and higher. It supports standard RFCOMM/SPP GPS receivers. It supports all applications that use the official CoreLocation framework.
