How to increase the download uTorrent 2.0.1 Speeds

The beginning of a download can be especially slow since you do not have many songs to share with your peers. Be patient and let your client open, the flow will improve eventually.

Sometimes a tracker displays errors of downtime due to overload during peak periods. Do not forget that the quality of your connection, the traffic jams during peak hours, etc.. may also affect the flow downstream as upstream. Trackers and customers are usually located in different time zones where the peak is similarly divided.

SOME TIPS TO INCREASE THE DOWNLOAD SPEED

    • Verify that the stream is "active." Use, preferably, an improved experimental client that displays the number of peers and presenters that you are connected (eg ABC, Azureus, μTorrent, etc..). Also check the status of the stream (using, for example, TorrentSpy or visit the Web site statistics) to ensure that others are also connected to the swarm. To get an acceptable speed, the swarm of a torrent to be composed of at least a few people connected to each other. The more peers, plus the transfer is fast.

    • Sometimes, limiting the upstream flow is proportional to that of downstream. This is especially true for asymmetric connections such as ADSL and cable, where the outbound bandwidth is much smaller than that between, which explains the very high flows downstream and upstream lowest. This is for the very nature of TCP / IP where each packet received must be confirmed by a small outbound packet. If the outgoing connection is saturated with BitTorrent data, the offset of TCP / IP increases to the point of undermining their effectiveness.

    • Use a client that allows you to limit the speed of uploading and set it to about 80% of the observed maximum or 80% of your upstream bandwidth. Thus, the flow upstream of torrents "healthy" will not compromise and you will avoid choking your connection while enjoying a good speed downstream.

    • When peers are few, you will generally have a higher speed by increasing the downstream flow upstream to the highest degree possible before saturating your connection - or the fateful level of 80% (±).

    • A maximum of four simulcasts upstream is a good setting though users of bandwidth to broadband (eg DSL Ultra) prefer a higher number.

Note that if you select an upload speed too slow, also will slow the download. It is therefore advisable to follow, literally, philosophy peer-to-peer sharing with peers and buddies, as they should. Make sure your network allows outbound connections necessary for the proper functioning of BitTorrent. Some networks (eg, schools or workplaces, etc..) Are protected by firewalls and connections go through a server-substitute (proxy) where only the well-known ports are open. Alas, there are too many scenarios to list them all. However, if you try to download a torrent "active" and your customer reports that there is no peer or broadcaster, it is likely that this is a problem of firewall or server-substitute.

To increase the uTorrent download speeds try to install the Language pack for uTorrent (μTorrent, correctly pronounced "micro torrent", "u-torrent" or "mu-torrent) is a BitTorrent client (the protocol that allows fast downloading of files through the sharing and transfer simultaneously), it therefore follows rules. It has a reputation for its lightness.
