    Effective Cleaning of Windows 7 and Windows Vista

    If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7 for several months, the findings may be alarming with a gap between your current performance and the ones you had right after installing the system.

    Like everyone else, you've probably changed a few settings, installed and uninstalled software, some may be malicious, manipulated files ... You are so sure your computer sluggish, slow start, with performance significantly lowered.

    One solution to clean!

    Check for viruses or spyware:

    If you notice a significant slowdown of Windows or your internet browser, strange behavior of your computer or your software, in short, that something is wrong is that you are probably infected. Even if you use antivirus software, some malicious programs can come to pass through: spyware, spyware, fake software, fake antivirus, Trojan horse or virus.

    • Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here.
    • Install it.
    • Restart your computer in safe mode. To do this, restart your computer. When you start your computer, right after the "beep" mode, press the F8 key.
    • In the menu that appears, with the arrow keys, go to the option Safe Mode with network support and press Enter.
    • Only essential system files of Windows are loaded. After a few minutes, the Safe Mode of Windows is launched.
    • Double click on the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on the Desktop.
    • Select Run a full review and click on Search.
    • Check the boxes next to all your drives and click Search. Your system is then analyzed. This may take several hours.
    • Click OK, then Show Results.
    • All items are listed pests detected and selected. Click Remove Selected to remove the malicious files.
    • Click OK and restart your computer.


    Remove temporary files and traces:

    The free CCleaner will allow you to clean traces and temporary files used by Windows and the software you use.

    • Download CCleaner from here.
    • Install it.
    • Run the software by double clicking its shortcut on the desktop.
    • In the Windows tab, check the boxes to remove all items.
    • Open the Applications tab and then repeat the process by checking the boxes in front of all the elements to empty. Note that only the software installed on your computer appear in CCleaner.
    • When you are finished, click the Analyze button.
    • CCleaner cleaning simulates and presents the amount of space you will recover and files will be deleted. After checking that no files in the list you need is present, click Clean.
    • Confirm the operation by clicking the OK button.
    • Cleaning starts.

    Fix registry errors:

    The Registry is the true heart of Windows. It contains all the configuration of your system. Over time, many erroneous and invalid keys to needlessly complicate. CCleaner will allow you to fix registry errors and get rid of obsolete data.
    • Run CCleaner and click Register.

    Uninstall Rebellious Softwares:

    • Revo Uninstaller will then create a restore point to go back to if something goes wrong.
    • The tool for uninstalling the software selected is initiated. Follow the steps he proposes.
    • Once the uninstall is complete, return to the interface Revo Uninstaller, which then scans your computer after uninstallation to find the traces left. Click Next.
    • The evidence found in the registry are then displayed as a tree. Click the Select All button and then click Remove.
    • Confirm by clicking Yes. Then click Next.
    • The list of remaining files and folders of this software on your hard disk is displayed. Click Select All, Delete and confirm the transaction by Yes.
    • Finally, click Next and then Finish. All traces of uninstalled software were then erased.

    Windows 7 and Windows Vista are automatically installed with many features, not always useful for your use of your computer. You can optimize your system and save a few seconds at startup by disabling features you do not use.
    • Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.

    • Click on the Programs icon.

    • Then click the Enable command or disable features Windows under Programs and Features.

    • The list of features of the system is displayed. Uncheck the boxes just before the features that you do not and you want to disable.     • Click on Size and Huge (> 128MB).

    • The list of files whose size is larger than 128 MB is displayed. To delete a file that you no longer need, click it and press the Delete key.

    Remove old restore points:

    Over time, the restore points created (these are files that retain the status of Windows) eventually occupy a quite big space on your hard drive. It is therefore very periodically delete the oldest.
    • Open the Start menu and then click Computer.

    • Then do a right click on the letter of your or your hard drive and choose Properties.

    • Then click on Disk Cleanup.

    • In the next dialog box, choose Clean system files.

    • In the window that appears later, click the More Options tab.

    • Then click the Clean button ... located in the section System Restore and Shadow Copies.

    • Click Delete.

    • Repeat for each of your disks or partitions present in My Computer.


    Disable Hibernation:

    At the root of your main hard disk where Windows is installed, you probably noticed a huge hiberfil.sys impossible to remove. This file is used by Windows to store the current state of your computer (the memory contents, applications and open documents, etc.) during a hibernation. If you do not use hibernation, you can disable it. Note that the standby classic will be still usable.
    • Click the Start button. In the Search field, type cmd.

    • Click the right mouse button on the program cmd.exe that appears and click Run as administrator.

    • A command prompt window opens. Enter the command powercfg-h off and press the Enter key.

    • Hiberfil.sys is deleted from your hard disk, freeing at the same time several gigabytes of disk space.
