Re: [DIY] Restoring an Iphone ( Front and Back)

    Method 1:

If you do not intend to désimlocker the iPhone:
The direct method to restore the iPhone will automatically install the latest version of firmware that will not allow you to désimlocker the iPhone (using the SIM card of your choice). Use this method only if you do not intend to désimlocker iPhone.

    Step 1:
Connect the iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes (use the latest version)

    Step 2:
In the left column, under Devices> iPhone select> in the abstract> click on Restore> click Do not save> wait for the restoration. Do not disconnect the iPhone and do not quit iTunes.

After the restoration, you will find your iPhone as it was originally. Then follow these steps .

    Method 2:

If you intend to jailbreak / désimlocker iPhone / move to a previous firmware:
You have to put the iPhone into DFU mode before restoring it on iTunes.

How to put the iPhone in DFU mode:
    Step 1:
Connect the iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes (use the latest version)
    Step 2:
Turn off the iPhone: press Start / Turn right and slide.
Step 3: (iTunes must be launched and the iPhone connected to the computer)
Press and hold the Main button and the button on / standby (main button + power on / standby at the same time).
    Step 4:
The image of the apple appears, hold down anything, continue to press and hold down the Sleep / Wake and Home button until the image of a USB cable to iTunes will appear on your iPhone : You are now DFU mode.
    Step 5:
    You posted this on iTunes:
    Stage 6:
    OK
    Step 7:
Then click on Restore in iTunes by holding the Shift key (or Alt key if you are on mac)
    Step 8:
A dialog box appears and you can now choose the firmware file that you want to use:
    Step 9:
Download the firmware file for your iPhone:
    • iPhone 3G Firmware 2.2.0: iPhone1, 2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw
    • iPhone 3G Firmware 2.2.1: iPhone1, 2_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw
    • Select the firmware file and click Open, and then you just have to wait for the restoration. Do not touch anything, do not disconnect the iPhone and iTunes does not quit.
    • 1013/10xx error during restore
    • If you have the error 1013/10xx/13 during restoration (in the middle or end of progression):

    • Press and hold the Sleep / Wake and Home button for 15 seconds
    • Release the Home button but keep holding the button on / standby for 2 seconds
    • The image of the apple appears, you can release the power button before.
