I would like to share some tips related to Grand Theft Auto IV:
Step 1: Patching the files:
First step you have to is to download the GTA IV Magic Patcher and after downloading it you have to extract it and then open it. After that patch you files, by clicking on the Validate Files, and then you have to click on Apply Patch. Then you are allow to edit you GTA IV files and you will also get the backup of each and every file. You can get your setting back if you think that you do not need it by clicking of the Verify and then clicking on Recover. After that you can close the program.
Step 2: Changing the view-distance
This is very easy, you just need to browse you Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\data folder and then open the file named as timecyc.dat. It will be better if you use Notepad++ for the purpose of editing, because it will look very disorganized in the normal notepad. After opening the file search for the file named as “FarClp”, this is used for controlling the distance from which the tree, buildings etc are drawn. If you set it to smaller value, the view distance will be smaller. The default value that is given 1500.00 that is very big and according to me pointless. For changing the view distance, you have simply change the value to the smaller value something like 500.00.
Step 3: Disabling shadows
Disabling the shadows will not create a significant impact on the game, but it will helpful if you are struggling with the FPS. For disabling the shadow you have to first download the Alice by Alexander Blade and the extract the file and then place the Alice folder in the Grand Grand Theft Auto IV folder. If you want to re-enable the shadow then you just need to simply delete this disable_shadows.lua that is in the Grand Theft Auto IV\Alice folder.
