    Download and install Notifier Feed:

    Feed Notifier is a Windows application that resides in the system tray and displays pop-up notifications on your desktop when new items arrive in your subscribed RSS or Atom feeds. You can download it from here.

    • Download and select a folder to download the file in the Downloads folder for example and click Save.
    • Once the download is complete, click the Run button.
    • Confirm the launch of the software installation by clicking Run.
    • In the wizard that opens, click three times on the Next button.
    • Check the box Run Feed Notifier is Startup is checked. The software will then automatically launched when Windows starts. Click Next and then Install.
    • Once the file copy is complete, click Finish.

    Add favorite flows:

    You'll now be able to add the information flow of your favorite sites.Here is how to do the same:

    • You must first copy in the clipboard the feed address to follow. In your Web browser, open the page containing the RSS feed to follow.
    • Click the right mouse button on the link to the feed and click Copy Shortcut.
    • You can also view the feeds in your browser and just copy the contents of the address bar by clicking on it and choose Copy.
    • Feed added Notifier icon in the notification area to the left of the clock.
    • Click the right mouse button above and click Add Feed.
    • In the Feed URL field, paste the feed address to follow by clicking the right mouse button in the field and select Paste.
    • Click Next.
    • Then change if you want the title of the RSS Feed in the field Title.
    • You can also change the check interval by Feed RSS Notifier. Here, for example, the software will check every 30 minutes on stream to see if new items have been published. Click on Finish.
    • With each new published information on the flow, a notification is displayed in the lower right of the screen.
    • You can browse the various notifications using the navigation buttons at the bottom of the window.
    • To view the article to a notification, simply click on its title.
    • The article is then open in your browser.
    • Simply click on the abstract or as part of the notification to close. It will open again after clicking on the icon of Feed Notifier in the system tray or when a stream has been updated.
    • Repeat for all the feeds you want to track.

    Customize the notifications display:

    The notifications appear too long or not enough? You find them too gaudy? You want to display them somewhere else? You can easily customize these options in Notify Feed.

    • Click the right mouse button on the icon of Feed Notifier in the system tray and click on Preferences.
    • Click the pop-ups.
    • By default, information from different flows are displayed for 5 seconds each in the notification window. You can increase this value to avoid missing information or reduce it if you really much. Note that any time you can find all the notifications by clicking on the icon of Feed Notifier.
    • You can then choose the position on screen notifications (position), the color scheme used (theme), the width of the notification area (width) and transparent windows (transparency).
    • Finally, you can increase the number of characters for titles (limited to 120) and abstracts (limited to 400).
    • Finally, click Apply. The change is immediate.

    All information from an RSS feed does not interest you? Feed Notifier also allows you to filter RSS. By setting up filters, you will be warned that the information you want. To do so , follow these simple steps:

    1. Click the right mouse button on the icon of Feed Notifier in the system tray and click on Preferences.

    2. Click Filters.

    3. Click the Add button.

    4. Then enter your filter rule to your keywords which should be in the information (eg, Linux) to have no more information with the word linux. To specify a particular author, enter author: followed by the name of the person.

    5. Then select which flows to your filter should apply and finally click OK.

    6. Repeat for other filters you want to put in place. The screening will be applied to new updates your feeds.
