Make Windows Live Messenger to function under Windows Vista

Hello! Well many of you might have come across that there is a lot of problems with Windows Live messenger to function under Windows Vista operating system. The Windows Live Messenger is not at all compatible with Vista and this is the reason that it is unable to perform or work under the same. I have got some solutions to make the application to work under Vista and it can be done well by following the steps.

The issue is that there is a error message that you can login. For the thing that is Windows Vista's auto tuning off, this problem can be solved well. Follow the steps that is been mentioned as below:

    • Click on the start button and then type cmd in search box.
    • Now you have to right click on the "cmd" and then make it run as Administrator
    • The comand prompt window will appear and then you need to type "netsh int tcp set global autotuning = disabled level."
    • Then close all the Windows after you get a confirmation that is done through "Ok."
    • If still this do not resolve then you need to make a slight change in the command that is in step 3 all you need to is type netsh int tcp set global autotuning = normal level" type.

You can have a schematic footage of the command prompt

Another solution that is the application issue is basically with the Adobe flash content which is not allowing or making the Windows live messenger to perform. You have to follow the steps as follows for removing the flash player:

    • Open the start menu and then the control panel option
    • Now open the add/remove program option
    • Select the desired application that is Adobe flash player
    • Now close Windows Live Messenger or any application that uses Flash to work with
    • Now you have to open the Adobe's public Flash player beta site by clicking on the link.
    • Then you have Download installer for Windows Active X control.

Perform the action. Basically if you are using Vista you have to be on Adobe Flash beta. Check for it.

You can also make use of an alternative that is reinstalling the application again in order to make it function. All you need to do is to follow the steps as given below:

    1. Open the official site by clicking on the link
    2. Now you need to click on the Download button
    3. As the file download popup occurs you have to Run to launch the installation Wizard
    4. Now choose the programs that you need to install.
    5. You will then see messenger under the program will be updated
    6. Now install the application
    7. Launch the messenger. This may work out well.
