Boot from the CD or USB:

To start AVG Rescue CD from your USB drive or your CD collection you have to "boot" on it, that is to say, start your computer on the USB key or CD. To do this you must set your computer's BIOS to tell it to boot first on your USB drive or CD instead of your hard drive.

    • Insert your USB drive or CD recovery in the infected PC.

    • Restart your computer. At startup, press the button to access the BIOS, usually Del, F1 or F2 sometimes depending on the brand.

    • Locate the section on the boot sequence, Hard Disk Boot Priority section in the Advanced BIOS Features example.

    • Using the arrow keys and + and - keys, place the USB drive or CD player at the top of the list.

    • Save your changes by pressing F10 then Y. Finally Press the Enter key.

    • Your computer will then start on the CD or USB key and AVG Rescue CD is launched.
