    Types of DNS records

Important categories of data stored in the DNS include the following:

DNS (Domain Name System) - a system that converts character domain names in their IP-addresses (and vice versa) in the Internet. In addition to the domain name system contains other information - unified account. Each domain is described by multiple records in DNS. "My Account" allows you to flexibly configure network settings for your resource - edit entries A, NS, MX, SOA and CNAME.

    A-Record (Address) -
defines the IP-address for the specified name. She points to the physical location of the site. With virtual hosting, many sites will have one IP-address, at the same time, one name may be linked set of servers (eg, for load balancing).

NS-record (Name Server) - an indication of servers, DNS, serving this domain. Addresses of DNS-servers are specified in symbolic form, and indicate both primary and secondary servers. To increase the search speed of the server in the DNS system using primary and secondary servers in different domains, as they have a different response time and speed of update tables match site name IP-address.

SOA-record (Start of Authority) - a mandatory entry for the domain, which sets out various housekeeping information: E-mail administrator DNS, the name of the primary (authoritative) DNS-server of this zone, the period of updating information.

MX-records (Mail eXchanger) - indicates the server to receive e-mail to the addresses in the specified domain (type <imya_yaschika> @ <domain>). If the domain is not registered MX-record, SMTP-server sends a request to determine the IP-address domain (A-record) and mail is sent to this IP-address.

CNAME-record (Canonical NAME) - allows you to assign a host alias (alias). Record is a link to another domain name (pointing to the A-record). This link is used instead of the A-writing with a real IP-address and allows you to associate multiple domain names with a real host, which, for example, are stored pages of the site.

The most common CNAME-entry - www. For example, if a client wants to be a resource example.com was also available to users who gain the browser www.example.com, you must create a name www.example.com record type CNAME, which indicate that this name is an alias name webserver.example.com. In this case, if you change the IP-address of the host (webserver.example.com), you'll need to change only one A-record for the webserver.example.com.

    Re: Types of DNS records

The most widespread domains of the second and third levels, as the most easy to remember. In most cases, a domain implies a second level in a particular area, such www.techarena.in. WWW - reducing the expression of World Wide Web, global information space of the Internet, on which navigation is carried over HTTP.
