Testing the compatibility of computers with Windows 7

Windows 7 interests you and you intend to install. But your hardware and software are compatible with the successor to Windows Vista? With the tool Upgrade Advisor Windows 7 provided by Microsoft, you can scan your computer with XP or Vista and check that there is no problem to switch to Windows 7.

    1. Visit the schedule of Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor software library in PC Tips.
    2. Download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor by clicking on the Download link and free Windows7UpgradeAdvisor.msi save the file on your hard drive.

    3. Once the download is complete, click Run.
    4. Confirm the program installation.
    5. In the wizard that appears, click Next.
    6. Check the box I accept the license terms and click Next.
    7. Click the Install button.

    8. Once the file copy is complete, click Close.

    9. Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor is then executed. If this is not the case, double click on its icon on the desktop.
    10. Click the Start button to begin the check analysis of your computer. The operation may take several minutes.

    11. The results of the analysis are then displayed. For each problem, information on how to correct them are displayed. In our example, we do not have enough disk space available.

    12. Click the Save button to save report the report as a webpage on your computer.
    13. Finally, click the Close button.
