Check for shorted ink cartridge

The cartridges are properly installed?

The front of the printer facing you, make sure the cartridges are properly installed. If you use a black ink cartridge, make sure it is properly installed in the left carrier and the color cartridge in the right carrier. If you use a photo cartridge, make sure it is properly installed in the left carrier and the color cartridge in the right carrier.

• The ink cartridge is low?
  
  Back to the tool Lexmark 810 Series Utility to check the ink-level indicator in the Cartridges tab. If there is still some ink in a cartridge or if an error message indicates that the level of an ink cartridge is low, install a new cartridge. Consumables Order from the Lexmark Web site if a message warns you that the ink levels are low. Install the cartridge.
  
  
• Transparent tape has been completely removed from the cartridges?

Remove the cartridges one after the other in their cart and make sure it does not stay transparent adhesive blue below them. Insert each new cartridge into his wagon and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

After you insert one or both print cartridges, or after you open the gray door, the Check Print Cartridge light begins to blink. The printer will not print.

If the printer is connected to a computer and the HP software has been installed, one of the following messages is displayed:

• The cover is open
• The print cartridge on the right side of the carriage is missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed
  
• The color print cartridge is missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed
  
• Print cartridge error

I think there is some software availble which check is ink at low position or not.So,please search that software and you will get your solution.

Through the Ink monitoring software,you can easily monitor the level of ink in cartridges.
