Remove Metadata from your Jpeg and PNG images

Every photo you edit, and upload to the Web has metadata embedded in it, such as the EXIF data, which describes the type of camera you used, shutter speed, white balance, and focus on the photo when it was taken. Many more Meta Data are there like Serial number of camera, Thumbnail of the images can be found, Geographic tags and If the image was manipulated using a software then the details like version number of the software can be found.JPEG & PNG Stripper an extremely small portable application that strips the metadata out of JPEG and PNG image files.

The app is tiny, portable, and free, and removes only metadata, leaving their quality intact and giving you a smaller file size in the process. JPEG & PNG Stripper supports Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003, and Vista; you shouldn't have a problem getting the app to run.The image quality is not affected.Just drag any photos you want to clean into the program window, and the updates happen instantly. All that’s left behind is the filename.

You can use the program either from the graphic interface or the command line and you can edit several image at the same time.By this way, JPEG & PNG Stripper becomes an excellent way to eliminate EXIF data of our pictures.Check the actions that you want this application to perform on your images, and click the “clear” button to begin the metadata removal process. By removing the metadata, your images will end up with much smaller sizes.

Even if you're not cropping your mug out of a nude composition, there are others reasons you'd want to remove the metadata from an image. If you're not interested in sharing your EXIF data, or you want to make sure that you don't inadvertently upload a photo of you at a party when the metadata says you were supposed to be at a company offsite, JPEG & PNG Stripper removes the metadata from your photos.

Removing metadata from your photos is great, but don’t forget that you might also want to do the same for your documents before you share those, too.JPEG & PNG Stripper is free and portable application that allows you to remove the metadata from your JPEG and PNG photos. It only clean the metadata without affecting the photo quality. It supports Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003, and Vista. This application is recommended for those who often upload and share images on the web.

Great way to clear up space if you have LOTS of photos. 1,000 photos with an extra 10k per photo adds up to 10 megs. You can tell the app to only preview the changes it can make to your files, meaning it will go through and tell you how much it can shrink your images by removing the metadata and show you how much space will be saved if you actually go through with it.You might want to work on copies of the photos, not the originals. The updates happen as soon as you drag and drop, and there is no Undo.

nice application to clear meta data like white balance, unedited thumbnails and GPS information in geotagged photos. For me, the application ripped all the metadata out without altering the appearance of the image itself. JPEG & PNG Stripper is freeware, Windows only. Thanks for sharing this useful app.

BatchPurifier LITE is another freeware to remove metadata from JPEG images. It's a bit more fancy than JPEG & PNG Stripper, allowing to select exactly what hidden data types to remove (EXIF, IPTC, XMP, comments, and other metadata), and to save the cleaned files in a different folder.
