Lock/Unlock the Hard Drive

I want to lock my hard drive for security issues. Can anybody please give the tips to lock and unlock the hard drive !!!

Lock command allows a user to lock a drive, enabling direct disk access for an application.

To lock the hard disk drive --- lock x:

where 'x' represents the letter of the hard disk drive that you wish to lock.


Unlock command allows a users to unlock a drive, disabling direct disk access for an application.

To unlock the hard disk drive --- unlock x:

where 'x' represents the letter of the hard disk drive that you wish to unlock.

You can use an application called Folder Lock to lock drives, removable disks and your hard disks.

Download Folder Lock and install it in the partition or in the drive you want security in. You can also install it in the default program files path.

Run Folder Lock >> set and confirm a new password >>click OK

Now, you have logged in Folder Lock's control area where you can see a 'browse' link and a 'Lock' button. Click the 'browse' link below the 'Lock' button and press 'Lock folders and drives' button.

Next select from the list, the drive you would like to lock. This drive will be locked and hidden such that it will be inaccessible, undeletable, unrenamable and secure from viruses and other users of your PC.
