You can connect your iPhone to wireless adsl modem. You just need to know how to use WiFi link on your iPhone. You can visit apple service center or read iPhone manuals to use WiFi link.
You can use proxy server on the iPhone to connect it as modem to your computer. The following steps will explain it:
- Download and install PwnageTool for Mac and WinPwn for windows, to jailbreak your iPhone.
- Load Cydia, and after self updating by Cydia, go to Install tab -> All PackagesInstall both MobileTerminal and 3Proxy, then press the Home button
- Create Ad-Hoc WiFi Wireless Network on Mac or PC
- Go to Wi-Fi Networks Settings in iPhone to join the ad-hoc wireless network created
- Locate iPhone IP address on Ad-Hoc WiFi Network
- Open Terminal and Run the Proxy Program
- Run Safari on the iPhone and Open a Web Page
- Configure Web Browser
- Tunnel and Forward DNS Resolution Requests Through SOCKS Proxy
- Terminate SOCKS Proxy Server
